Pacers sign Jeremy Lamb (3 years, $31.5 million)
Jeremy Lamb brings some much-needed shooting to the team, posting his best year from the field since 2018.
His 3-point shooting has taken a bit of a step back this year, an unfortunate trend given that the Pacers don’t have many consistent long-range shooters.
Lamb has been a nice addition to the starting squad and has provided fairly reliable defense.
His $10.5 million-per-year (three years) contract is a bit steep, but it being flat over the next two seasons will make it a more valuable (and movable, if needed) contract as time goes on.
Lamb went down with an ACL tear in early 2020 and is rehabbing at the moment.
Provided Lamb can work back up to his level of athleticism next year, he should continue to be an impactful part of the Pacers rotation.
Pacers sign Justin Holiday (1 year, $4.7 million)
Justin Holiday joined his brother Aaron this summer when the Pacers signed him to a $4.7 million one-year contract.
Holiday has been good and most of all he’s provided versatility for the Pacers. Slotting in anywhere from 1-4 in certain situations, he’s been a good sport about his ever-changing role and looked to provide a jolt whenever and wherever he can.
His future with Indiana looks a bit murky, as his all-around skill set should give him plenty of options this summer. That said, given the likelihood that the salary cap declines this year due to revenue decline from COVID-19 and the fact that his brother is on the Pacers, it’s possible he takes another team-friendly one or two-year deal to rejoin the team.
On both ends, Holiday has been good this season.
