Victor Oladipo has played in just 13 games so far this year for the Indiana Pacers. Let’s take a moment to reflect and rank them all.
Following a gruesome injury in January of 2019, Pacers fans had to go with no Oladipo for an entire year. He would make his debut coming off the bench at home against the Chicago Bulls on January 29 (more on that later). As if that weren’t enough, now Pacers fans need to go without any Pacers basketball whatsoever for an indefinite period of time.
We’re here through it all.
Prior to the hiatus, Oladipo played in 13 of a possible 18 games, held out of five games by lingering injuries, none all that serious.
If, indeed, the season is over for the Pacers and the NBA, this is all we will have gotten from Oladipo this year. Let’s hope that’s not the case, but the possibility the season is canceled due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19 within the league and to fans may force the NBA to take unprecedented and unexpected action.
Pacers fans really didn’t get to see their 2019-20 team in its final form. Oladipo being their best player, he was still finding his groove once the season was put on hold and it feels wrong for it to possibly be coming to an end this way.
Luckily, the front office has made some smart moves that keep the core intact for several years. Pacers fans can hold onto the fact that the roster holds a lot of certainty going into the future.
We still got 13 whole games from Oladipo, something to hold us over until the NBA resumes, whether it be this season or next season. Many of them were stellar performances that Indiana has come to expect from Oladipo since they received him in a trade from the Thunder.
Let’s take a look at the performances from Oladipo so far this season. We’ll go from the worst to the most vintage of showings from Oladipo, appreciating his growth in such a short period of time this year.
And by the way, NBA League Pass is offering a free trial while the league is suspended, and you can use that to go back and watch any of these games!
