Indiana Pacers: Domantas Sabonis is keeping in shape with TikTok dances
By Josh Wilson
Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis is keeping busy (and maybe even in shape) with TikTok dances while he practices proper social distancing.
A worldwide pandemic forces all of us to stay indoors and change up our routine a bit. For the Indiana Pacers and Domantas Sabonis, that means no games while the NBA season is suspended indefinitely.
Like many of you, I’ve filled my time (in addition to writing about the Pacers) with video games, movies, TV shows, and eating. Endless eating.
I’ll also shamefully admit I’ve spent counless hours scrolling through TikTok.
If you don’t know what TikTok is, it’s a video-based social media, much like Vine. While some videos can go beyond a minute, most posts are chunks of 5-30 seconds. Terrible for your attention span, great for killing time.
If you’ve been on the app since the league suspension went into place, you probably have stumbled upon the greatness of a 6-foot-11 man in Pacers gear dancing on your timeline. That’s right, Sabonis himself is getting in on the TikTok game.
The caption here is facetious, but this dance does look complicated. There’s certainly a shot this will keep his footwork in check for whenever basketball returns to us. Hey, when you’re stuck indoors, anything will do.

While this one doesn’t have any direct parallels to how it might help him on the court, try this one out for yourself. Yeah, harder than it looks. This takes an annoying amount of coordination, and it’s far easier to watch someone else do this one than to master it for yourself.

Sabonis is a great follow on TikTok, we’d highly recommend. And if you end up getting the dance down that I couldn’t, put your video on Twitter and tag us!
This is a great example of how to make the most of being stuck inside from Sabonis. This is what peak social distancing looks like!
