The Indiana Pacers hope to finally end their losing streak, which has grown to five games, as they welcome the Brooklyn Nets to Indianapolis tonight.
The Indiana Pacers look to end their longest losing streak since the calendar change of the 2017-18 season tonight as they take on the Brooklyn Nets. It will be the first time Brooklyn has visited Indy this season and they will look to avenge the the two home losses they were handed at the beginning of the season.
The Pacers have continued to struggle since the return of Victor Oladipo, holding a 1-5 record his debut, but the Nets are a good team to end the slide. Indiana won the first two match-ups by a combined 39 points and will be fully healthy tonight for only the second time all season. Four starters scored at least 16 points in the 115-86 thumping on Nov. 18 and a similar showing could very well be in the cards.
The Nets will again be playing without Kyrie Irving, who suffered another knee sprain at the beginning of the month. The Nets are 15-16 in the 31 games Irving has missed this season, but have had strong stretches without their star point guard. There will be a lot of Spencer Dinwiddie in his absense as well as Caris LeVert who is returning to form after injuries of his own.
Indiana once again finds themselves in a very winnable game, but will need to play better than they have of late. Some of the struggles can be associated with building chemistry among new line-ups while some are simply missing shots and making the wrong plays. Everything seems to be going the wrong way for the Pacers so it’s time for it to start going right.
