Indiana Pacers: 30 greatest players in franchise history
6. Roger Brown
There are still 3 players on this list that are the best ABA players in Pacers history, and we’ll start with Roger Brown, the 6-foot-5 forward from Brooklyn. Alongside George McGinnis and Mel Daniels, the Pacers had almost objectively the best frontcourt in ABA history.
This dominance from their forwards and center allowed Brown and the Pacers to take home 3 ABA titles. Brown also added 4 ABA All-Star appearances during this time and made 3 All-ABA teams as well. When it was all said and done, Brown was also named to the Basketball Hall of Fame and the All-Time All-ABA team, which is no small feat.
Roger Brown scored over 20 points per game in three seasons for the Pacers and was also a decent rebounder despite McGinnis and Daniels both having incredibly high rebounding numbers themselves.
Compared to his two Hall of Famer teammates we’ll see soon on this list, Brown didn’t quite have as impressive of a career overall, but he’s still clearly one of the best players to ever compete for Indiana.
