Indiana Pacers: 30 greatest players in franchise history
9. Chuck Person
Unlike some of the players that have already come before him on this list, Chuck “The Rifleman” Person was never an all-star. However, that doesn’t mean that Person wasn’t consistently a beast during his 6 seasons with the blue and gold.
For over half a decade, Chuck Person left it all out on the court in Indiana. He never averaged less than 17 points per game for the team, and maxed out at 21.6 points in 1988-1989.
Person was also pretty active on the boards, and he was solid at setting up his teammates for buckets as well despite being a forward.
Chuck Person definitely brought an intensity to the game night in and night out. To be sure, he was one of the most dangerous scoring threats in Indiana Pacers history, and deserves a spot in the top 10 of this list despite not having some of the accolades others before him were able to take home. Person was the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in his inaugural season, which is definitely something to be proud of.
