Still no clear indication of the second unit.

With a bevy of new faces and styles of play, Coach McMillan has his hands full with maneuvering minutes from the bench.

Throughout the contest between the Pistons, there was no clear indication of who will be an integral part of the second unit. Outside of Sumner, there were no frontrunners on who will contribute off the bench.

Point guard T.J. McConnell displayed flashes and Doug McDermott shot the ball efficiently, but no one off the bench truly shined in the team’s debut.

As the season progresses someone will have to emerge as a leader for the second unit. This will be important for sustaining the team’s confidence and allowing no drop-off when the starters come off the floor.
