Edmond Sumner has earned respect from coaching staff.
The growth of Edmond Sumner has been a joy to watch for all Pacers fans. Since being drafted in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft, Sumner has steadily improved each season.
His improvement culminated with him receiving significant minutes off the bench in the opener.
A productive summer and training camp by Sumner gave the Pacers coaching staff no choice but to include the guard in the rotation.
Even though Coach McMillan and his staff used several different lineups throughout the game, there is promise with how Sumner performed as one of the first options off the bench.
There has been curiosity surrounding who and what pieces will make up the Pacers’ second unit as the season progresses, but with what Sumner displayed in his flashes of play, expect for him to be an integral part of the team’s rotation moving forward.
