4. Brooklyn Nets

The team that had the craziest offseason of everyone (at least in the East) was hands down the Brooklyn Nets. The big loss for the Nets came with the departure of all-star D’Angelo Russell, who will now join up with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and the gang on the Golden State Warriors.

However, Russell will not have the pleasure of teaming up with perennial all-star/MVP candidate Kevin Durant, because he, of course, is now a member of the Nets himself. Durant won’t play much (if at all) in 2019-2020, but he wasn’t the only new face that came to town.

Kyrie Irving will man the starting point guard duties for Brooklyn, which instantly vaults the team into almost certain success moving forward. Combine this with the fact that guys like Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, and Spencer Dinwiddie are still on the roster, and you start to realize that Brooklyn will be excellent next year, with or without Durant.

The Brooklyn Nets were the most surprising team of 2018-2019, and their trend upwards in the Eastern Conference should continue.
