Justin Holiday

The team’s most recent signing, Justin is Aaron Holiday‘s older brother. At 30 years old, he is now the oldest player on the roster and brings the veteran presence that this young team needs.

He is a great defender and a pretty good shooter, so he should have no problem soaking up some backup wing minutes. It remains to be seen exactly where he’ll play in the lineup, but he will absolutely have a spot in the rotation, before and after Vic comes back.

He is instantly one of the best defenders on the roster and should be able to anchor the second unit on that end of the floor. Overall, a great signing to cap off free agency on a 1 year/$4.8 million deal (perfectly maxing out the Pacers in terms of cap space).

Alize Johnson and Edmond Sumner

These two young players were on the team last year and both got their playing time extended this summer

Johnson was a stud in the G-League last year and played well in the summer league, so the Pacers went ahead and guaranteed his deal. He might not get a ton of playing time but has potential and brings a ton of energy when he plays.

Sumner arguably has even more potential (his size, wingspan, and athleticism are rare) and was reportedly rewarded with a 3 year, $6 million deal to stay with the team. It remains to be seen how much he’ll play this season as he needs to get better at taking care of the ball and making better decisions, but he has a ton of upside and really doesn’t cut into the Pacers’ future cap space at all.
