What Malcolm Brogdon can pass on to Aaron Holiday

Brogdon has only been in the league for 3 seasons, but he’s already 26 years old. He’s a mature player that’s rounding into the prime years of his career, and he understands how to play his role on a team.

What Holiday can learn from Brogdon is a lot of the little things that will ensure he’s able to develop into a smart contributor that’s able to stay on an NBA roster for years to come simply by proving he understands the game at a high level.

Brogdon is a guy that’s rarely out of position. He’s not necessarily a lock-down defender, but he understands defensive positioning and works endlessly to stay in front of his man. He takes care of the basketball. He makes good reads and knows how to run an offense when he needs to. He makes smart plays and takes the right shots.

Basically, what it boils down to is that Malcolm Brogdon is a smart, cerebral basketball player. He’s rarely going to be a negative for your team on the court, because he understands what he needs to do in order to add value while he’s in the game.

This is the type of player that you want on your team to be a great example to your young prospects, like Aaron Holiday. Brogdon can take Holiday under his wing as he continues to transition to the NBA and make sure he’s developing in a way that sets him up for success well into the future.

However, this knowledge exchange between Brogdon and Holiday won’t just be a one-way street. Holiday has some things to impart as well.
