The Indiana Pacers enter a free agency period with a level of uncertainty surrounding their roster during a critical time for the front office.

Now that the NBA Draft has concluded, and the Indiana Pacers appear to be covered at the center position, we’re just a week away from the beginning of the “official” free agency period. For Pacers president Kevin Pritchard, it’s an incredibly crucial time to fill areas of need and shape the roster. Indiana has seven expiring contracts coming off the books next week.

The Pacers have been the subject of a few rumors pertaining to summer moves, whether it be acquiring max-level players, signing solid contributors, or retaining players like Thaddeus Young or Bojan Bogdanovic. With nearly $31 million in cap space, Pritchard and the front office have a variety of routes they can take to build a contending a team.

One of the most pressing needs is a point guard. Not only does Aaron Holiday need time to develop before taking over the reins as the starting point, but both Darren Collison and Cory Joseph are unrestricted free agents, as well.

With Oladipo’s return date likely going to be midway through the season, the Pacers will be looking for a playmaker who can create shots for his teammates and shoot at a reputable rate.

I previously wrote on Isaiah Thomas and George Hill, and how they’d fit with the Pacers, but there’s still are still quite a few options available.

Aside from big names Indiana has been linked to, like D’Angelo Russell or Kemba Walker, I want to look into some of the other less-household names who can run the point.

After all, history has shown big-name free agents don’t necessarily flock to Naptown, and cap space may be allocated in a way that tighten’s the budget for the point guard department.

Here are a few other options that are available on the market.
