The future for Aaron Holiday is brighter than many including me may think. If the coaching staff can tap into his potential and utilize him correctly, I see a little bit of Kemba Walker but at a much cheaper price as of right now.

He is the same height a 6 feet 1 inch and has the same traits Walker has but on a much smaller scale. Holiday is quick on his feet and is not afraid to take it to the rim and is also an excellent spot-up shooter.

As much as one can dream and fantasize a Pacers’ team with Walker on it, it will not happen even if Indiana wanted it to. He is way more expensive and Indiana does not attract top tier free agents. Plus, Holiday is on a two year 4.1 million dollar contract whereas Walker would be a max contract.

And of course, there’s a way to go before Holiday would potentially get close to Walker.

There have been many trade scenarios sending Holiday to other teams and that is the last thing Indiana should do. People tend to forget how young Indiana is. While Indiana will need to retool this summer, part of the plan should be to implement Holiday into the rotation and continue to build around the young core the Pacers have together.

A lineup of Holiday, Oladipo, insert a small forward, Sabonis, and Myles Turner could be absolutely deadly in years to come.
