The Indiana Pacers are adding the talented Kelly Krauskopf to their already strong front office.

The Indiana Pacers front office just keeps getting better. The team announced today that they are adding Kelly Krauskopf in the Assistant General Manager role.

Krauskopf is the (now former) GM and President of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever. She joined the Fever in 1999 and has been at the helm of the team ever since, building them up to more than a dozen playoff appearances and one championship in 2012.

Last season, she oversaw the Pacers eSports team in their inaugural season and led them to success. Now, after multiple years experience running teams and organizations, she will take her talents to the Indiana Pacers.

The team announced the move this morning:

Krauskopf said the following in the team’s announcement:

"“First, I would like to thank Herb Simon, Kevin Pritchard and Rick Fuson for this amazing opportunity. I have admired the work that Kevin and his staff have put forth so far and I am honored to be a part of an elite and historical franchise. The chance to work in an NBA front office for a first-class organization filled with great people I know and in a city that has become my home is extraordinary.”"

This move has historical significance. Krauskopf is now the first ever female assistant GM in NBA history. But make no mistake, she is overqualified for this job. The level of success she led the Fever to as well as her experience as the WNBA’s Director of Basketball Operations put her as one of the best basketball organization managers in the world, and the Indiana Pacers have a significantly improved staff after adding her.

Kelly Krauskopf starts with the Pacers on January 1, 2019. She will bring more knowledge and experience to one of the best front offices in basketball. The Pacers hired one of the best in the business.
