Bucks no problem for Pacers – even in this economy
By Tony East
Victor Oladipo returned and the Indiana Pacers played an excellent game in a win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
A basketball game happened. The Indiana Pacers played very well against a very good basketball team and came away with a big win at home over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Thaddeus Young played a marvelous game. It might have been his best performance in a Pacer uniform. He had 25 points and 11 rebounds and played sensational defense on Giannis Antetokounmpo. Everything he did was calculated and well executed, and he led the way on both ends of the floor.
Oh yeah, and Victor Oladipo returned from injury! That was exciting. He was supposedly on a minutes restriction, but with the Pacers up by double digits late in the game, Nate McMillan left Vic on the court. Thank goodness he did, because Oladipo pulled down his 10th rebound to secure his double-double right at the end of the game.
He had some nice plays despite missing so much time:
As a team, the Pacers looked really good. On defense, they were as solid as usual, only giving up 97 points. They won the rebounding battle 55-43. They hit 40 percent of their threes. They had 31 assists. They played a great brand of team basketball, and they had no problem winning the game.
This happened too, which was neat:
Overall, between a great game and some even better charity, it was a perfect night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Thaddeus Young is Giannis’ kryptonite
Thaddeus Young had 25/11/4/5 steals. That is an incredible stat line. Like, one of the best lines we have seen from a Pacer this season. But that wasn’t even the best thing he did.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, who averages over 26 points per game, was held to 12 points. He was only able to get up 7 shots. He averages 13 rebounds and only got 10. Thad kept him from being impactful and it allowed the Pacers to do everything else well on defense.
Myles can never ditch the ponytail
After having a sensational game on Monday in his first game with a ponytail, Myles Turner played another game with a ponytail tonight. He had 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocks. Turner has been rolling for a while now, and the longer it continues the better the Pacers record will get.
Some people suck at tic-tac-toe
If you haven’t seen this, you need to. It was outstanding:

It wasn’t actually related to basketball, but it was incredibly humorous.
Now, back to hoops. Let’s do some grades:
The Pacers take on the Philidelphia 76ers on national TV on Friday. They will look to avenge their early season loss.
