The Indiana Pacers have been off to a solid start in the 2018-2019 season so far. The biggest reason for this? I mean, it’s gotta be the shoes, right?

Over the offseason, the NBA removed their restrictions on what types and colors of shoe players can wear during games. This has led to some unique and eye-catching combinations of styles and colors as players are now fully expressing themselves through their footwear. The Indiana Pacers themselves have had some fun shoe moments in recent years, including the reveal of Paul George’s signature Nike PG1, Trevor Booker’s Reggie Miller-inspired pair of kicks, and Lance Stephenson wearing green shoes on St. Patrick’s Day “for the Irish people,” (I can’t find the video of the post-game interview where Lance said this, but trust me, it was hilarious).

But which dudes on the current roster sport the coolest sneakers on the squad? Let’s take a look at these super definitive rankings of the Top 5 below.

#5 – Darren Collison

Pacers’ point guard, Darren Collison, is one of the only dudes in the league hooked up with the new Q4 Millennium Silhouette. This is a new shoe company, and they’re off to a pretty nice start with these. They’ve got a cool sort of retro late-90s feel to them, which sets them apart from what a lot of other guys around the league are currently wearing. Bonus points for uniqueness.

#4 – Myles Turner

Budding defensive powerhouse, Myles Turner, clocks in at number four on this list. Myles rocks some clean looking pairs of former teammate Paul George’s PG2s. The white/black pair with the multicolored soles are particularly nice. Turner is also a big old nerd and has worn a couple custom Star Wars and Lego-themed pairs during games as well.

#3 – Thad Young

Thad Young is known for being a Sneakerhead. Just look at his closet.

It’s no surprise then that Thad has some of the consistently nicest pairs of shoes on the team. Like Myles, he often wears the PG2s (though he hilariously switched to a pair of Kobe’s the first time he played against Paul George after the Oladipo trade). What sets Thad’s choices of PG2s apart from Myles’, however, is how meticulously he matches them with the uniform he’s wearing, as shown by the maroon, gold, and white pair he rocks when he’s in the Hickory jersey. The exclusive PlayStation themed pair is especially cold, too.

#2 – Tyreke Evans

First-year Pacer, Tyreke Evans, hasn’t quite found his groove yet with his new role this season. But man, have his shoes looked good in the meantime. Tyreke often wears Kyries, but he’s known to switch it up from time to time. Without a doubt, he gets the most creative with his shoes in comparison to any other Pacer currently on the roster. The rainbow Kyries are absurd, but awesome at the same time. The guy Tyreke replaced on the court, Lance Stephenson, used to wear some pretty unique looking shoes as well, so Tyreke’s boldness with his footwear selection has filled Lance’s shoes admirably. Here’s to hoping Tyreke’s game starts reflecting the coolness of his kicks soon.

#1 – Victor Oladipo

I mean, was there ever any doubt? Of course, the most electrifying guy on the team would also have the coolest shoes, right?

All-Star shooting guard Victor Oladipo has a sweet deal with the Jordan Brand, which recently has led to him scoring some very unique and eye-catching variations of the Jumpman Hustle model. Vic started the season with the hot debated “Are they pink? Orange? Salmon?? Coral???” pair of Jordans and made everyone take notice. Since then, he’s been switching it up with unique colorway after unique colorway. Oladipo and WNBA star Maya Moore are also the faces of the advertising campaign for the new Jordan 33s, so you can see Vic sporting a nice Pacers-themed pair of those from time to time as well. Hopefully, Vic gets back on the court soon so we can see what he rocks next.
