What contract comes next for Victor Oladipo?

Oladipo is a top 15-20 player in the NBA. Health permitting, he is a max player and deserves to be paid that amount.

When he is a free agent in 2021, he will have eight years of NBA experience, meaning he will qualify for up to 30% of the salary cap. The salary cap is currently projected to be $121,800,000 that summer, so Oladipo’s first-year salary in his next deal would be approximately $36,540,000.

If he re-signs with the Pacers, that deal could be up to five seasons long with an eight percent raise after the first season and equal dollar amount raises the following three summers. That deal would be a five-year, $211,932,000 agreement.

If he signs elsewhere, the raise structure stays the same, but it falls to five percent raises and it can only be a four-year deal. That would lead to a maximum contract that equates to a four year, $157,122,000 deal.
