Contracts can be confusing. To help make them easier, we will break down the monetary situation of every player on the Indiana Pacers roster and what to expect going forward. In this edition, we take a look at Cory Joseph.

The first noteworthy bit of player news that happened to the Indiana Pacers this summer came in the form of Cory Joseph opting into his player option. He did it one month before he had to make the decision, showcasing his desire to be back in Indiana.

CoJo is quietly very important to the team. His perimeter defense off the bench keeps the second unit afloat, and his ability to be thrust seamlessly into the starting lineup made sure the Pacers did not struggle in the absence of Darren Collison. He is an integral part of the rotation.

Oh, and his contract is really nice too. He makes slightly less than he is probably worth on the open market, as he is paid bench player money to be a high-end rotation player. The Suns wanted him to be their starter. He is valuable.

But his deal is expiring, and his future is up in the air. Let’s take a closer look at CoJo’s contract and his future.
