Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis hit the gym for some yoga
By Tony East
Yoga? Or Bro-ga? Either way, that is what Indiana Pacers centers’ Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner are teaming up to do this summer.
Last season, we saw Victor Oladipo’s crazy body transformation propel him to an incredible season that concluded with him winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award. Other Indiana Pacers players took notice. We saw Myles Turner doing yoga and changing his diet to improve his game earlier in the summer, and now it appears that Domantas Sabonis has joined him.
Turner has been on the bodily improvement kick all summer long. Domantas Sabonis has been unable to join him – he spent the earlier parts of the summer playing basketball for the Lithuania National team:
Sabonis’ time with the international squad had a break in the action and he was able to come back to the United States and be with his teammates. First, he was in Miami with the whole team as they trained together on a trip to South Beach.
Now he is in Texas, spending his time with fellow big man Myles Turner. Well, maybe not right now, but pretty recently at the least. Turner posted this picture on his twitter of the two in the gym after lifting weights:
Thanks to Grant Afseth, we also got to see the two doing yoga together:
It is clear that the two young big men are working hard, and together, to improve their game. They have both spoken many times about how they will work this summer to improve their chemistry so that they work better on the court. Working out together in Texas is one example of how they are doing that.
You can see a picture of the two doing yoga together here as well, where they are both hanging upside down. Bonding and improving your body can only be good things for player development, so it is a great sign to see Sabonis and Turner doing these activities together. It can only help the Indiana Pacers.
