Former Indiana Pacers center Andrew Bynum is reportedly eyeing a return to the NBA.

Remember the failed experiment that was Andrew Bynum‘s time as a member of the Indiana Pacers?

It’s hard to forget that short period of time (unfortunately). The Pacers signed him in early February of 2014 after he was traded to and released by the Chicago Bulls. Bynum would only play in two games, logging eight and 15 points respectively to go along with a total of 19 rebounds. But he couldn’t stay healthy enough to play and his off-court issues combined with his health made him a liability in Indiana.

After his time in a Pacers uniform, Bynum was not brought back and has not played in the NBA since. The former all-star and two-time champion had to sit and watch the league pass him by as injuries had derailed his career.

However, according to a recent report from Shams Charania of the Atheltic, that may not be the case for long. Andrew Bynum may be eyeing an NBA comeback:

Bynum had a roller coaster of an NBA career. On one hand, he was a complete monster on some championship teams in Los Angeles. He was a beast in the post and averaged 18.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game in his 2012 all-star campaign. He was an unstoppable force in the post.

On the other hand, there were some reports of turmoil during his stint in Cleveland. He played okay in games, but by the end of his time with the Cavs, he was reportedly shooting the ball every single time he got it in practice, regardless of where he caught it.

Next. Report: The Suns are targeting Cory Joseph. dark

Who knows what Andrew Bynum has left. He is 30 years old now and hasn’t played in four seasons. Perhaps he could prove in training camp that he is still a talented player and make a final roster. Given the Indiana Pacers center rotation is already set with the addition of Kyle O’Quinn, we know it won’t be with his most recent team. But maybe he has a chance to end up somewhere else.
