Tyreke Evans has already gotten some work in with some of the younger Indiana Pacers and is looking forward to the upcoming season.

The season is still two months away, but the addition of Tyreke Evans to the Indiana Pacers lineup only increases the typical anticipation of the NBA season.

While you can’t win games — much less a championship — in the summer, Tyreke Evans and some of the Indiana Pacers younger players are putting in extra work.

In a Q&A with Matt Mullin of the Village Voice, Evans spoke about his efforts to give back to his home city of Philadelphia as well as looking forward to the upcoming season.

"You’ve got a new team this year. Are you looking forward to playing in Indiana this season? “I’m definitely looking forward to this season. I went out there for two weeks, just to get to know the trainers and the coaching staff. Worked out with some of the guys there, some of the young guys. … I was there for two weeks working out with them. Coach is excited about the work I was doing and excited to have me. I’m looking forward to it. I think it’s going to be a good year for us.”"

Last season, those offseason workouts helped the team come together — something Thaddeus Young said convinced him early on that the season was going to be special — and one can hope this season’s team can create similar chemistry.

If Evans is on the same page as his teammates and stays healthy, there are several reasons why Indiana fans should be looking forward to his début.
