No NBA player is perfect, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. In this love/hate series, we will review those attributes for each player on the Indiana Pacers. In this installment, we will take a look at Edmond Sumner.

Like Ike Anigbogu, Emond Sumner was a guy who fell to the Indiana Pacers in the 2017 NBA draft thanks to injuries. Sumner was a spectacular player for Xavier before tearing his ACL and simultaneously ending his college career and damaging his draft stock.

Before the injury, Sumner was known for his insane athleticism and ability to get by his matchup. Don’t look any further than his personal twitter to see how nimble and explosive he was:

But his injury set him back big time, and he only touched the NBA court for the final two minutes of the Pacers season last year. Thankfully, we still got to see what he can be during some time with the Mad Ants as well as the recent summer league.

What has Sumner showed us? Has he shown enough to stick around in the NBA for a while? Let’s take a look.
