5 free agent wings the Pacers should avoid
Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
If the Pacers do want to sign Luc Mbah a Moute then sign Russell Westbrook and coax Reggie Miller out of retirement to form an all UCLA alum team, then I will completely change my tune on this one.

This is also another guy who wouldn’t be a bad signing at the right price, but I think someone will end up overpaying for Mbah a Moute’s defensive prowess.
The former Clipper is a skilled defender with a very, very rudimentary offensive game. He managed to finally shoot an above-average percentage from 3-point range last season, but on a limited number of attempts. He’s far from a marksman, and I wouldn’t expect much improvement from a guy on the wrong side of 30.
Every team needs veterans, especially a team that will struggle to find identity like next year’s Pacers. The benefit of having experienced players in the trenches with the young guys so they adopt the right habits and establish the right culture is incalculable. However, it’s very possible to do that without backing up the Brinks truck for a guy that isn’t worth it.
Look at what the Bucks did with Jason Terry last season. He was a great veteran who helped mentor a very young roster, and he got paid $1.5 million to do it. Those are the kind of contracts Indiana should be looking to give out.
Next: An open letter to Paul George
Long story short: please don’t sign Rudy Gay.
