According to David Pick, undrafted guard Jordan Loyd is set to play for the Indiana Pacers during the 2017 Orlando Summer League.

Do you remember Jordan Loyd? We told you to remember his name. Loyd is coming off a very solid first season in the D-League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Despite going undrafted in 2016, it appears he’s currently heading in the right direction. He also has reported interest from the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers.

With the Mad Ants this season, Loyd put up averages of 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4 assists per game. He shot 43.5 percent from the field and a surprisingly low 34.2 percent from 3-point land. In college, Loyd was an elite 3-point shooter. He shot over 40 percent during his three years at Indianapolis.

In case his stats didn’t tell you the story, Loyd simply got buckets for Fort Wayne.

Loyd now has the chance to showcase his skills and maybe latch on with the Pacers roster if they’re impressed. He wouldn’t play a big role with the Pacers, but they could use some more shooting. Especially if C.J. Miles, Indiana’s best 3-point shooter, leaves as a free agent this summer. Shooting is something Kevin Pritchard is expected to address this offseason.

The Pacers should have a good summer league roster. Joe Young, entering his third year, could play. Second year pro Georges Niang will also likely play. The Pacers also have the 18th and 47th picks in the 2017 NBA Draft. Assuming they keep those two picks, you’ll see those rookies out there as well.

The Orlando summer league starts on July 1 and ends on July 6. The Charlotte Hornets, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder are the other teams participating. It’s always a good chance to get a look at some young players.
