The pre-draft workout is a crucially important part of a team’s draft evaluation process. The Pacers have held four workouts so far, with their fifth just announced and scheduled for Monday.

A pre-draft workout is an NBA team’s only chance to be completely in control during the entire draft process. Although they still must adhere to a few regulations from the league office (no five-on-five is allowed, for instance), they can customize the drills and workouts exactly how they prefer.

On Monday, The Pacers will hold their fifth pre-draft workout of the season.

The six prospects are Bam Adebayo of Kentucky, Terrance Ferguson of the Adelaide 36ers, Luke Kennard of Duke, London Perrantes of Virginia, Ivan Rabb of Cal and Davon Reed of Miami.

The NBA Mock Draft intelligentsia have mostly decreed Ferguson, Kennard and Rabb to be first-round prospects, while Adebayo, Perrantes and Reed have gone in the second round in most mocks.

More from Pacers Draft

With three consensus first-rounders included, this is definitely the most high-profile pre-draft workout the Pacers have held so far. Other first-round prospects in previous workouts have included, UCLA’s T.J. Leaf, SMU’s Semi Ojeleye and UCLA’s Ike Anigbogu.

This is Davon Reed’s second pre-draft workout appearance with the Pacers. As a senior at Miami, Reed scored 14.9 points per game and shot 39.7 percent from 3-point range. Reed is currently ranked at No. 76 on DraftExpress’s Top 100 Prospects list. Clearly, the Pacers have a higher opinion of the 6-foot-6 shooting guard.

Terrance Ferguson is the only non-NCAA player in this crop of prospects. Ferguson opted to spend his buffer year playing in the National Basketball League of Australia for the Adelaide 36ers rather than attending college. His role for the 36ers has mostly been as a spot-up shooter, something the Pacers could certainly use. On defense, he still has room to grow, but he has the length and the quickness to become a force.
