Wonderful Day for Pi: The Best Indiana Pacers Performances on Pi Day
By Ben Gibson
Jermaine O’Neal — 2004
32 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks vs the Cleveland Cavaliers
One of the best Pacers players from the 2000s also had a great showing on Pi Day during that era. O’Neal dropped 32 points on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, hitting 14 of his 26 shots. One of those was a 3-pointer and he went 3 of 5 from the charity stripe during his mini-rampage.
Unfortunately, like the others, it came in a loss.
George Hill — 2015
30 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds vs the Boston Celtics
Just two seasons ago George Hill put up the fourth greatest Pi Day performance in Indiana Pacers history. Hill knocked down 11 of his 18 shots on the night, going 2 of 7 from deep but a perfect 6 of 6 from the foul line.
Hill only scored 30 points or more six times in his NBA career so far, with two of those coming in Indiana.
But unfortunately, like everyone else here, it came in a loss, and in this case, a particularly low scoring one for the Pacers. It also ended a seven-game winning streak for the Pacers.
Danny Granger — 2010 vs the Milwaukee Bucks
29 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists vs the Milwaukee Bucks
The other stalwart from the 2000s on this list and Pi Day participant is Danny Granger. He comes in at the number five spot with 29 points on 8 of 18 shooting, going 2 of 5 from deep as well. However, he made up for those so-so shooting numbers from the floor with an 11 fo 11 performance at the free throw line.
But, once again, Pi Day was not a winning one for Indiana as they fell to the Milwaukee Bucks.
