Pacers Host Troy Williams, Cousins, Gbinije, McClellan, Wallace, Finney-Smith for Workouts
By Ryan Eggers
The Indiana Pacers held their first pre-draft workout on Tuesday, May 17, hosting 6 possible draftees. Here’s a breakdown of each.
Indiana’s first pre-draft workout was held on Tuesday, May 17, in preparation for the draft on June 23. At this time last year, the Pacers were present on lottery night for the first time in half a decade, ultimately receiving the 11th pick, which they used on Myles Turner.
This year, the Pacers will only have the 20th pick, where quality talent gets a little harder to judge. However, the first round pick can hold a valuable piece for the team going forward, especially considering Larry Bird’s skill in finding talent at around this point in the draft.
An interesting new prospect in this year’s pre-draft workouts is the ability to schedule workouts with players who aren’t necessarily tied to the draft, like the familiar face IU standout Troy Williams.
Here are the 6 players that the Pacers worked with on Tuesday.
Next: Isaiah Cousins, Oklahoma Guard
