Ty Lawson and C.J. Miles practiced with the Indiana Pacers today and Lawson says he should be ready to go on Saturday.
Lawson had a short — but exciting — 5 minutes with the Indiana Pacers on Monday before going down with an ankle injury.
While the severity of the injury was unknown at the time and sent fans into panic mode, it appears Lawson will be fine. He took part in practice today, albeit in a limited fashion according to the Indy Star’s Candace Buckner. Lawson didn’t take part in any of the team’s scrimmages, but he did run through offensive sets to get himself acclimated to Indiana’s schemes. He also shot 3-pointers during the practice session as well.
Hopefully, this alleviates some of the fears of Pacers fans who expected the worse.
What little we saw of Lawson was encouraging on Monday, but it will be more telling of his fit with the Indiana Pacers when he plays a more significant amount of minutes with the rest of the bench. Other than injuring his ankle, however, the signs were positive.
Lawson told the media after he plans on resting tomorrow before the team practices on Friday, and hopes to play against the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.
In other Indiana injury news, C.J. Miles practiced and is sporting a headband now. According to Buckner, “Yes, it is a thing now.”
According to Buckner, Glenn Robinson III has been going 1-on-1 with Miles to help get him back in playing shape, a role he plays when the Pacers need to get an injured player back into the groove of things.
Hopefully, those shots continue to fall when he returns to the rotation. Miles started off the season hot shooting 44.9% from beyond the arc in November and 41.4% in December before taking a serious plunge in January at 30.2%. He only played 7 games in February, but he was starting to look like his old self, making 44.1% of his 3-point attempts.

Vogel says Miles is “progressing nicely” but didn’t indicate if he would be ready for the Pacers’ next game.
