Filing the paperwork to become a free agent may be the official way of saying goodbye to an organization, but for the fans saying goodbye on Twitter is often the last reminder that a player’s time is done with their team.
On Wednesday night David West said goodbye to Indiana Pacers fans.
Thanx Indy for giving me a chance...Thanx for the support over the last 4 years...Luv is Luv....

While often the mentions on a tweet like this end up getting filled with upset fans, it is nice to see Pacers fans saying thank you and wishing him the best. A few last second cries for him to return to Indiana, but almost nothing but positive replies.
@D_West30 my heart just broke
