We’re talking softball… from L.A. to Indianapolis. Talking softball… Paul George and Robert Mathis. OK, That’s enough Simpsons references for one day.

George and plenty of other Indianapolis personalities took part in the Caroline Symmes Celebrity Softball Challenge to benefit the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund on Thursday. George’s squad took on Mathis and Dwayne Allen’s team and in the end the Indianapolis Colts players would claim victory. But along the way there were a few shenanigans and more importantly, some time with the kids that will benefit from the event.

Current Indiana Pacers C.J. Miles,Shayne Whittington, and Solomon Hill, as well as coaches Frank Vogel and Nate McMillan joined Paul George on the field. Former Indiana Pacers Mel Daniels, Eddie Gill, Darnell Hillman, Fred Jones, and Rik Smits also took part in the action.

Always the coach, Vogel gave Miles a few tips before the game got going.

Paul George struggled in his first at bat, but Whittington put an early run up on the board for his team with an RBI double.

The Pacers squad was trailing going into the fourth inning, but the game presents unconventional ways to close the gap.

In the end though Mathis and Allen’s team claimed victory while the Indiana Children’s Wish Fund reaped the benefits.

PG’s didn’t rush out after the game finished either, spending a little time putting smiles on kids faces.

The Indy Star chatted with George for a bit about moving to power forward, but nothing we hadn’t heard before.
