The team generally played better without him on the court, as illustrated by his -11 on the night, but a lot of that was the team’s collective poor play in the first quarter until Rodney Stuckey checked in. Individually, Scola looked fine, finding some space while Nerlens Noel was getting lost on D.

Not good, has room to improve, and I presume this was his last start for a bit. We’ll leave it there.

Monster. He started slow from an activity standpoint and didn’t put his hand print on the game right out of the gate. That had me skeptical — but then he went and put his hand print all over the ball, swatting weaksauce nonsense from the Sixers out the sky all night long on his way to 7 blocks. People have been questioning him all offseason, and the big fella delivered a sensational game in his first chance to prove himself. Nothing about this game was more encouraging than Roy Hibbert dominating on both ends.

Shaky to start, but he steadied himself and the team while playing some good point guard. This was the Sixers, yes, but for a guy like Sloan to put up this sort of line on opening night says a lot about him as a pro.

C.J. Miles, SG 33 MIN | 6-17 FG | 1-1 FT | 1 REB | 2 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 15 PTS | +16

Really, really rough start, beginning 1-for-7 from the field before finding his rhythm. He wasn’t bad as much as shot happy and rushing aerly, but the inefficiency put Indiana in a hole.

Lavoy Allen, PF 20 MIN | 3-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 5 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 2 BLK | 0 TO | 6 PTS | +23

Nice little player off the bench tonight. I think this was the start of many good-producing nights for Lavoy. Played well on defense, too.

Wasn’t hitting all his shots but proved he should be the sixth man in the short term after Stuckey moves into the starting lineup and Solomon Hill falls back.

Pretty awful on defense, but he is out here playing with almost no guards and just trying to learn a game that moves really fast. Give him a few more stints before being too critical.

Typical Mahinmi stuff, and better. Finished well, lots of boards, solid D.

GODNEY. He changed the whole flow of the game when he checked in and almost immediately got to the hole twice, scoring and drawing a foul at the rim both times. He was the sparkplug all night and forced Vogel’s hand into going a bit longer with his minutes than I believe the coach wanted to. Helluva debut — and if he keeps hitting all his 3s then pencil him in for the All-Star Game. (I kid … sorta.)
