Twitter is always fun during NBA games. It’s never like this during any other sporting event. Bloggers and newspaper writers are tweeting out a lot of interesting points and statistics. Here are some tweets I liked.
1ST QUARTER:
This Pitbull song is already annoying. #NBAPlayoffs
— Jon Washburn (@DeanOfMortgages) April 19, 2014
Professional sports love Pitbull. I had to watch him perform at the 2013 Home Run Derby in Queens. Painful stuff. I hate this song and so should you.
Two outstanding sets to open the game.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 19, 2014
Pacers opened the game with strong sets that led to points.
QUADSAP
— Robby Kalland (@RKalland) April 19, 2014
Paul Millsap completed a four point play. Silly foul by George Hill.
This is not going to be an easy series for Indiana. You’re seeing how Atlanta’s shooting is a problem.
— Mike Prada. (PRAY-duh) (@MikePradaNBA) April 19, 2014
The Hawks’ five-out offense is dangerous. Five guys who can shoot threes. Millsap and Teague can penetrate to open up those threes, too.
Indiana has enough defensive challenges in this series without Paul George getting beat off the dribble by DeMarre Carroll.
— 8 Points, 9 Seconds (@8pts9secs) April 19, 2014
Welp.
Big 3 at the buzzer by CJ Watson cuts Hawks lead to 28-22, but Pacers' play anything but convincing thus far.
— Zak Keefer (@zkeefer) April 19, 2014
Watson throwing some last-second makeup on an abominable start to the playoffs for the Pacers. Really bad on both ends through one quarter.
— 8 Points, 9 Seconds (@8pts9secs) April 19, 2014
End of the first quarter.
2ND QUARTER:
SIR LANCE A LOT IS JOUSTING OFF HEADS YOU GUYS.
— Dave “Mortgages” Searle (@MillerTimePod) April 19, 2014
Lance leading the bench attack. He’s got six points in the quarter at this point. 30-30.
OK. When I said I was cool with Lance doing so much I didn't mean EVERYTHING. Jesus, man.
— Hardwood Paroxysm (@HPbasketball) April 19, 2014
Now everyone is mad at Lance.
10 of Atlanta 13 makes have come from outside 16 feet.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 19, 2014
Hawks living from the outside.
Evan Turner was not drafted because of his ability to shoot threes. He’s 6 foot 6 and averaged six assists his last year of college. That might be it.
Paul George starting to steal some souls.
— 8 Points, 9 Seconds (@8pts9secs) April 19, 2014
Paul George with 10 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals at this point.
Sure, it's bench & starters, but Pacers +7 with Ian on the floor, -8 with Roy out there.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 20, 2014
Mahinmi and Hibbert both with 2 points and 2 rebounds.

Mid-range fest.
Hibbert corner 3 turns out just as you would imagine it to
— Candace Buckner (@CandaceDBuckner) April 20, 2014
He missed if you were wondering.
He blocked Hibbert pic.twitter.com/1cIwwEKHLI
— Mario 🦥 (@Sucks) April 20, 2014
Hibbert was blocked by this guy.
Paul George leads Hawks to a 50-50 tie with a big late run.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 20, 2014
He had a nice second quarter but over dribbled and turned it over on the last possession. Jeff Teague missed a layup but Kyle Korver tipped it back up.
HALFTIME
Basketball is fun.
One of the best follows on Twitter.
Lance kicked off second-quarter with his energy and Pacers were good throughout overall. 28 pts on 10-20, including 3-4 from deep. 8 FTAs.
— 8 Points, 9 Seconds (@8pts9secs) April 20, 2014
Second quarter stats.
3RD QUARTER
Atlanta now on a 13-1 run.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 20, 2014
Oops.
George Hill’s D has been off for a while now. With the action happening baseline, you can’t let Teague go middle that easily.
— Mike Prada. (PRAY-duh) (@MikePradaNBA) April 20, 2014
George Hill who is usually a steady defender was having a tough time defending Jeff Teague. He was blowing by him pretty easy.
8-0 Hawks to start the half. 58-50 Hawks with 9:35 left in the 3rd.
— Bo Churñey 🇨🇦 (@bochurney) April 20, 2014
Pacers playing like poop.
Oh my. Pero Antic and David West.
— SB Nation NBA (Click the pic to read 🔽) (@SBNationNBA) April 20, 2014
Pero Antic and David West get in a small altercation. 60-56, Hawks.
4 on West.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 20, 2014
David West runs over Paul Millsap.
Paul George heads to the locker room.
— Bob Kravitz (@bkravitz) April 20, 2014
Oh my.
Update.
I'm having a hard time seeing the Pacers winning a game in this series.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 20, 2014
Yikes.
One possible move for Vogel is to stagger Hibbert’s minutes differently so he’s playing more against Elton Brand than Antic.
— Mike Prada. (PRAY-duh) (@MikePradaNBA) April 20, 2014
Some strategy from Mike Prada at SB Nation.
Andrew Bynum in the ear of Roy Hibbert on the bench, trying to get him going and pointing specific things out.
— Scott Agness (@ScottAgness) April 20, 2014
If Andrew Bynum is in your ear, quit.
End of the 3rd quarter:
— Indiana Pacers (@Pacers) April 20, 2014
Hawks 80#Pacers 66
Paul George: 17pts/6rebs Lance Stephenson: 11pts/5rebs
Who would have thought this tweet would be posted before the game?
4TH QUARTER
Except for DeMarre Carroll 3-pointer Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap combined for the remainder of the Hawks 27 third-quarter points. #ATLHawks
— Chris Vivlamore (@CVivlamoreAJC) April 20, 2014
Playoff Teague.
Literally every time I turn to watch the Hawks have the ball.
— Ben Gibson (@CowboyOnPatrol) April 20, 2014
Hawks’ offense.
We push the lead to 17 with 8:24 left.
— Atlanta Hawks (@ATLHawks) April 20, 2014
Don't let up boys...
Atlanta Hawks twitter is generally good.
The Hawks should assign someone on the floor to keep telling Roy Hibbert, "Man, I can't believe they don't pass you the ball more."
— Lang Whitaker (@langwhitaker) April 20, 2014
Hibbert has 2 points on 1-of-4 shooting.
Pacers got smacked by the Hawks last year in the first round twice, too. In ATL, of course, but still. Have a beer. Watch again Tuesday.
— 8 Points, 9 Seconds (@8pts9secs) April 20, 2014
Bud Light?
I watched all of the TOs from the Miami game. The thing that struck me is that these guys often appear as if they've never played together.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) April 20, 2014
I noticed Turner missing C.J. Watson wide open in the corner a few times.
Could Kentucky beat the Pacers?
— Yaya Dubin (@JADubin5) April 20, 2014
Maybe.
Hey, we have a believer.
I'm legitimately close to hating basketball. This has never happened in my life. #ThanksObama
— Jon Washburn (@DeanOfMortgages) April 20, 2014
Pacer fans are not okay.
Mwahahahaha. RT @1070Bruno: Korver just blocked Hibbert again.
— 8 Points, 9 Seconds (@8pts9secs) April 20, 2014
Hibbert, you suck.
Pacers in real trouble. ATL presents matchup issues, + IND still not right on either end. Still think they pull out series, but in trouble.
— Zach Lowe (@ZachLowe_NBA) April 20, 2014
We’ll end this broadcast with the MVP of NBA writers.
