Post-Game Grades: Grizzlies Swallow the Pacers

facebooktwitterreddit

The Good – Only allowing 82 points is nice. Indiana is generally good at stopping three-point attempts, too. Mike Miller turned into Mike Miller of the 2012 Finals in the first half, but Indiana cooled him down in the final two quarters. Memphis was 0-of-5 behind the arc in the second half.

The Bad – Where should I start? Would you like to rebound? Indiana didn’t care about the glass tonight. I didn’t notice Hibbert collected ZERO rebounds until I checked the final box score. Indiana was 10-of-34(29%) at the restricted area. The offense is so painful to watch. Wow.

MVP – The Memphis Grizzlies had a couple MVP’s. Mike Conley turned into Mike Jordan on multiple occasions. Marc Gasol held down the paint per usual. That guy is a beast.

I did miss hearing “SMOTHERED CHICKEN!” from Quinn Buckner but Austin Croshere is Indiana’s MVP. I wouldn’t mind hearing Croshere talk over games from time to time.

LVP – Paul George? Roy Hibbert? You there?

X Factor – X Factor doesn’t exist.

Indiana Pacers71FinalRecap | Box Score82Memphis Grizzlies
David West, PF 33 MIN | 5-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 6 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 2 TO | 10 PTS | -7They gave him the mid-range. Made two. But was 3-of-9 at the restricted area. Not good.

Paul George, SF

36 MIN | 2-10 FG | 3-4 FT | 6 REB | 1 AST | 2 STL | 1 BLK | 4 TO | 8 PTS | -8

Ricky Rubio is shooting better than Paul George from the field since January 1st. C’mon son!

Roy Hibbert, C

21 MIN | 2-5 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 1 TO | 4 PTS | -9

That stat line looks Joel Anthony’s. Zero rebounds? Five fouls? C’mon son!

George Hill, PG

35 MIN | 2-7 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 5 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 4 PTS | -15

Hill defended Conley decently in parts of the game. Conley hit two tough floaters where Hill was right on his hip. No turnovers is nice, too. But wasn’t great.

Lance Stephenson, SG

31 MIN | 6-11 FG | 1-2 FT | 8 REB | 4 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 15 PTS | -13

Nice stat-line. Efficient shooting. Set up guys in the third quarter.

Lavoy Allen, PF

2 MIN | 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | +2

Garbage time.

Luis Scola, PF

16 MIN | 2-6 FG | 2-2 FT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 6 PTS | -9

C’mon son!

Evan Turner, SF

19 MIN | 2-5 FG | 3-4 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 2 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 8 PTS | -5

Evan, Mike Miller is very good at shooting basketballs. Guard him.

Chris Copeland, SF

11 MIN | 2-7 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 5 PTS | -1

Indiana ran post-up plays for Copeland, which was interesting. Seven shots in 11 minutes is a lot.

Solomon Hill, SF

2 MIN | 1-2 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 2 PTS | +2

Garbage time.

Ian Mahinmi, C

23 MIN | 1-1 FG | 2-2 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 4 PTS | -3

Mahinmi brings it on defense. He’s quick and strong and bottled up Randolph into contested shots.

Donald Sloan, PG

10 MIN | 2-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 5 PTS | +3

Not much to say here. Nice step-back jumper in the second quarter.

Rasual Butler, SG

2 MIN | 0-0 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | +3

Garbage time.

Frank Vogel

Is there something wrong with Rasual Butler? Take away some of Turner’s minutes and give them Butler.
