Talkin’ Hansbrough, Solomon Jones; Also Game #60 Preview vs. Lakers (I Know…Yikes!)

Currently, these three things I’ll be talking about today will not be very…well, good, for Pacers fans. This news is not going to happy unlike my other enjoyable posts, right? Eh? Heh? Meh? Okay, yeah, we get it. Let’s just head to the stuff. First things first, let’s start with Tyler Hansbrough…

This just bothers me. Tyler was just some real tough guy who can take anything and play every game when he was with his beloved North Carolina Tar Heels. Apparently, this has not happened with the Indiana Pacers. With just over 20 games to go with the NBA season, Hansbrough has missed most of them in the past one or two months. Where have you been man? Currently, he is suffering from an ear infection along with dizziness. Thjis ear infection must be very very bad since he has missed—like what?—30 games?!

And to add to that, he will most likely be out for the season according to Jim O’Brien:

“I don’t think there’s been an official announcement, but it would not surprise me not to have him the rest of the year,” O’Brien said. “I’m not counting on him to be back.

“He’s dealing with a tough situation. It’s getting deep into the season. He’s unable to practice and condition. He would have to get himself in condition again if he got better within the next three weeks. That’s a tough situation.”

Hansbrough’s last game was on January 16th, only playing for about five minutes…which was pretty useless. He hasn’t played basketball in two months. This guy needs to get in shape, fix himself, and do everything he can to make himself better during the offseason. This year has been disappointing for a stellar rookie like him. He has a lot of talent in him.

And in other news, Solomon Jones will miss tomorrow night’s game versus the Lakers because of conduct. Says the press release:

The Indiana Pacers have suspended forward Solomon Jones for one game because of conduct detrimental to the team.

The Pacers provided no additional details Monday explaining why Jones was suspended. Spokeswoman Krissy Myers said the Pacers would have no comment beyond a two-sentence news release issued by the team.

I think it will come out soon. Maybe a fight during practice? Who knows? He’ll miss tonight’s game against this Lakers team, who fought off a tough win against the Denver Nuggets yesterday. And speaking of the Lakers, let’s preview this game now. Just a brief one, though.

The Pacers need to stop Kobe Bryant. We all know what he can do, even injured. He can pull of some crazy stuf in that last quarter, now matter how he is playing. The matchup of the night will probably be Roy Hibbert vs. Andrew Bynum. I see a good matchup here. Hibbert needs to watch out, though. This Bynum fellow can be a nightmare. Danny Granger vs. Ron Artest? Looks to be interesting. And speaking of Artest, Indy will revisit the once-amazing player for the Pacers. I see a fun game in hand.
