Sit down, pull up a chair, and we’ll keep you updated on the most important news from tonight’s draft. We already saw Houston move Omer Asik for a 2015 first round pick last night and today Aaron Afflalo is headed to the Nuggets after the Bobcats turned down a trade.
Right now we’re waiting for the draft to get rolling but feel free to comment below or Tweet with the hashtag #8p9sDraft with any snark, trade ideas, or commentary.
This is Adam Silver’s first draft as commissioner, but we can’t rule out the appearance from David Stern.
"BAH GAWD, HE HIT SILVER WITH A STEEL CHAIR" RT @talkhoops: David Stern needs to rappel from the rafters.

No sign of Stern, but the first pick is in with Andrew Wiggins going to the Cavaliers.
Another American job lost to a Canadian.

And the suit game is…
Bucks waste no time taking Jabari Parker.
— FanSided GIF (@FanSidedGIF) June 26, 2014The 7 foot-tall, injured Joel Emiid goes third.
Gutsy call by Philly. Second year in a row taking a player with a serious injury. Sam Hinkie--former Rox exec--knows foot problems well.

Reggie Miller has some advice to share with tonight’s players waiting to find their destination. The Orlando Magic select Aaron Gordon fourth, so there you go, a slight surprised… Donte Exum to the Jazz for the fifth pick… Let the terrible puns begin.
Boston takes Marcus Smart, the Lakers take Julias Randle. Downside of social media beating Silver to the punch on picks…
.@WojYahooNBA is reporting that Snape kills Dumbledore.

The Hoosiers’ Noel Vonleh is headed to Charlotte.
The Hornets use the ninth pick on Noah Vonleh, Indiana power forward. Does this mean end of Josh McRoberts here?

A nice moment for Isaiah Austin of the Baylor Bears. His career was over before it started when he was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome.
Nice. #8p9sDraft RT @SBNation Touching, beautiful moment as the NBA “selected” Isaiah Austin in spite of his career-ending condition:

Back to the draft.
As the draft winds on, you find out about people you’d never heard of…
Quotes from Fraschilla on Caboclo: "Two years from being two years away." and "He doesn't know how to play." Bold move Toronto.
— Andy Bailey (@AndrewDBailey) June 27, 2014
Haven’t heard any mentions of the Pacers in legitimate rumors, but if anything happens, Indiana owner Herb Simon is connected to the Pacers’ war room.
Bruno Sundov shout out? There's no way im still watching this, is there? #8p9sDraft

Looks like Shabazz Napier is going to the Miami Heat. LeBron James thought Napier was the best point guard in the draft, and I bet Mario Chalmers probably isn’t thrilled about this. We’ll have to see how George Hill matches up with Napier.
Oh no, I’m sorry Shabazz: you’re going to play for the Miami Heat
— Chris Dunks, Turkey (@negativedunks) June 27, 2014
And the Suns pick at 27 was the Pacers until they traded for Luis Scola. Phoenix selcte Bogdan Bogdanovic of Serbia.
The Suns are currently on the clock with the 27th pick, which they acquired via last summer'a trade with Gerald Green and Miles Plumlee.

Rich Bucher tweeted this… for once, non-sarcastically I can say: Big, if true.
Source: Toronto looking to S&T Kyle Lowry to Miami for cash and future picks. Part II: Bosh opts out, returns to Toronto.

The draft marches on…
Kill me now. RT @ScottAgness: We are now 15 picks away from the Pacers’ only draft pick of the night - No. 57. #NBADraft2014
— Jared Wade (@Jared_Wade) June 27, 2014
And then, after many hours of waiting, the Pacers trade the 57th pick to the Knicks…
#Pacers traded the 57th pick for cash, because will need $$$ for free agency. Herb Simon said that team can spend up to tax

Larry Bird's first words in the post-draft press conference: "That was a waste of two weeks."
— Candace Buckner (@CandaceDBuckner) June 27, 2014
Pacers have traded a second-round pick in each of the last nine drafts, including this one.

Of the many wasted days of my life, this has been the most recent. On to the Lance Stephenson vigil.
— Tim Donahue (@TimDonahueZ) June 27, 2014
Pacers trading their only pick to NYK makes sense. Indy can't take on another contract and hope to keep Sir Lance-A-Lot.
— Dave “Mortgages” Searle (@MillerTimePod) June 27, 2014
Pacers sell pick, still won't pay any luxury tax or give real-life taxpayers any refunds. I may be tired and upset my night was wasted. Bye.
— Jared Wade (@Jared_Wade) June 27, 2014
Bird: “It goes to show that you got to be in the 1st round.” Said they could have moved into first round but free agency is biggest concern.
