Justin Timberlake Sings Happy Birthday to Roy Hibbert, Generally Takes Over Indianapolis

There aren’t that many people who have approval ratings of 100%. There’s Bill Murray, Terio, Sully Sullenberger, and Jennifer Lawrence — an actor so beloved that not even hate groups can hate her.

Then we have Justin Timberlake and Paul George.

Other than potshots at some of his bad movies, nobody ever has anything bad to say about Timberlake, and we know everybody loves Paul George.

So it was quite fitting that, after the Pacers beat the Heat, the two played some hoops together in The Fieldhouse.

If there was anything people could approve of more than Justin Timberlake and Paul George individually is was them kicking it together.

That wasn’t the only part of the Timberlake takeover that night.

Danny Granger also appeared on the jumbotron for a “Dannyeoke” performance of Justin’s part on the Jay Z track Holy Grail. A better jumpshooter than crooner, Granger butchered the track.

Still, JT enjoyed the attempt.

Timberlake, of course, was in town to tear down The Fieldhouse the following night. Naturally, a bunch of the Pacers’ players — including Roy Hibbert, David West, Danny Granger, Lance Stephenson, Mahinmi, and Rasual Butler — attended the concert. And wouldn’t you know it, it just so happened to be Roy Hibbert’s birthday. So with the help of Hibbert’s fiancé, Timberlake arranged to have the capacity crowd sing happy birthday to the big fella.

Hibbert said he doesn’t “usually have men sing me happy birthday” (whatever that means), but despite his awkwardness with being the center of attention off the court, the big guy was happy to have the pop star recognize his big day.

Roy expanded on his thoughts with Scott Agness of Pacers.com.

"“It was great,” Hibbert said of the serenade. “I appreciate Justin doing that, my fiancé setting that up and the entire Pacers organization doing that. I felt a little embarrassed. I don’t mind playing in front that many people but something like that I’m not used to. I felt a little awkward out there, but I’m thankful.“Seriously, it was surreal. I didn’t think he was going to do it. I’ve been a fan of his for a long time, since *NSYNC and Bye Bye Bye and everything like that.”"

Then after the show, Justin again kicked it with some Pacers.

Quite the few days for Mr. Timberlake in Indiana, which it appears would welcome him with open arms if he ever decides to move to — or run for office in — the Hoosier State.
