Indiana Pacers Must See Games of 2013-2014

Now that the schedule has been released, and I’ve talked a bit about what that all entails, what else should you look for this coming season? Lucky for you, I’ll throw out some more games that you should circle, highlight, mark up on your calendars as must see television. One of these will be a personal choice, but it’s still one the list for that reason.

vs Toronto Raptors

This is my personal choice as it’s the day of my birth.  Therefore, I hope to attend this game in person as I’ve always wanted to do something like that on my actual birthday.

West Coast Trip

I believe that first trip out West could set up for how the Pacers handle road games.  Last season, they had quite the successful trip out West towards the end of the season, so picking up at the beginning with some road wins could really set the tone.  You look at this trip, and you see teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, San Antonio Spurs, and Oklahoma City Thunder there ready to go.  Three teams that I would love to see the Pacers pick up those noteworthy wins.  While it is only a win in the win column beating significant teams can do wonders for the confidence level.  Sure you want to win all the games, but on these type of trips I think going .500 is just fine for the season.

@Houston Rockets

The Pacers get their first crack at Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets.  This would be a great game to see Roy Hibbert battle it out with Howard in a game that has those “true” centers.  Two guys that bang in the post, block shots, and get rebounds.  I think the Pacers will do all they can to get physical with Howard, and that should be fun to watch.

Month of December

The month of December could be a hard month for the team as I look at 8 of the games there in a span of 15 games where the Pacers are facing possible playoff teams.  You get off on the wrong foot, and you could be looking at a tough road to get back up.  It could be important just to stay even during that month to make that playoff push later on.

Vs New York Knicks

Metta World Peace makes a stop in Indy, in what I am sure will be a raucous crowd for him.  Any game against the New York Knicks just feels a bit more important, and now that World Peace is there, I would really look for this one to be a bit testy at times.

vs Chicago Bulls @Chicago Bulls

The last two shots at the Chicago Bulls for the Pacers who I think will be right there fighting for the division. Picking up a couple of wins against the Bulls could help pad that division lead or at least give a couple of great divisional wins.

@Miami Heat

Who knows this could be for the top seed in the Conference or it could see both teams resting guys for the playoffs as it’s one of the last games of the season.  I’ll mark down as must see for now, and we’ll hope it stays that way come April.
