8 All-Stars Pacers painfully passed on in NBA Draft in last 20 years
By Joe Lyon
6. Rudy Gobert – took Solomon Hill
Rudy Gobert was drafted with the 27th pick in the 2013 NBA draft. So Rudy’s career has surprised many given that he was passed on by so many teams. The painful thing being, Indiana was one of the teams that pass on Gobert.
Rudy has racked up accolades in his time in the NBA with awards such as 3x All-Star, 4x All-NBA, and 3x DPOY being the biggest and most notable accomplishments. He is currently playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves after fetching a king’s ransom to the Utah Jazz who traded him.
Instead of Gobert? The Pacers drafted Solomon Hill, who played for Indiana for three seasons and is now out of the league. At the time it seemed that Solomon could develop into a solid rotational piece out of Arizona, but the Pacers should have gone a little riskier with the international player in Gobert.
Other players the Pacers passed on for Hill? Tim Hardaway Jr. and Reggie Bullock top the list for this draft class.
