Indiana Pacers: Buy or sell on 4 latest rumored trade targets
3. Dorian Finney-Smith is an interesting choice for the Indiana Pacers
Some reports have tabbed the Indiana Pacers as one of the likeliest destinations for Dorian Finney-Smith, head coach Rick Carlisle’s most favored defender in his previous club, probably as a collateral of the Dallas Mavericks being projected to be a key pursuer for Turner as they attempt to gain more ground in the Western Conference.
However, pursuing (or settling for) Finney-Smith as one of the anchors in a hypothetical deal will only present the Pacers with a multi-layered skillset overlap. After all, Indiana already has two three-and-D slash tweener adepts in Oshae Brissett and Torrey Craig (three if you’re counting the still-injured TJ Warren).
Ideally, Indiana’s brass should be more lofty in their demands in a possible deal with Dallas. After all, given league-wide interest on Turner, they have the clear leverage. If you’d ask me, they should try to nab Jalen Brunson, a solid point guard in a career-year who may be too expensive to retain for the Mavericks in the offseason.
Verdict: Sell on the Pacers expressing interest on Dorian Finney-Smith
