Lineup: Caris LeVert, Chris Duarte, Justin Holiday, Oshae Brissett, Myles Turner

Post-ups are undoubtedly waning in usage and importance in today’s game. While Sabonis is one of the best players at operating on the block, overreliance on it makes the offense quite predictable, milks the clock and limits possessions, and allows the defense to set without holding a clear advantage, even on slight mismatches, with the influx of wings who can defend the post.

Thus, teams now utilize five-out lineups more frequently. With offenses now better off relying on concepts and impromptu reads rather than play calls, giving the scoring attack as much spacing as possible is a near-must. Fortunately, the Indiana Pacers have a roster that can supply just that.

With Turner at the five and three perimeter gunners in Duarte, Holiday and Brissett spreading out the floor, LeVert at the nominal point guard spot will maximize his shot creation and underrated playmaking while fueling the offense with an infusion of shooting and pace. On defense, the Pacers shouldn’t have a problem, especially with all five players boasting reliable individual defense and length to disrupt opponents and spawn fast break opportunities.
