The Indiana Pacers should call the Atlanta Hawks

After an impressive run in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, the Atlanta Hawks are reportedly interested in moving one of their young players and picking up a rookie contract to replace him. Cam Reddish, a promising young wing, is another wing option if the Pacers decide to move off of the 13th pick.

Reddish has not shot the three-pointer well in the NBA but his athleticism and defensive upside are still very much worth investing in. Even if the Pacers trade up for Moody, finding a way to snag Reddish to join him in the second unit would be a very intriguing option heading into next season.

The Hawks have a load of talent across the roster and it will be time to pay them all in the near future. The Pacers would be smart to offer their 13th pick to Atlanta to help them with their cap situation while also improving their own defense, a unit that struggled last season.

I doubt a trade would involve Atlanta’s 20th overall pick given but it could be in play in a trade back that does not include Cam Reddish. Of course, Indiana could add something to the deal in order to acquire Reddish and the 20th pick, but their desire to get cheaper sort of defeats the purpose of adding a salary filler like Aaron Holiday or Jeremy Lamb to the deal.

The Pacers will be active on draft night but will they actually follow through with a big trade?
