John Wall’s mini-renaissance last season was a welcome sight, and while he may be retained given their restricted options around the All-Star guard, dangling him to acquire assets for the future is still the ideal move to make for Houston as long as the opportunity arises.

If so, then the Rockets could pick another backcourt piece to succeed Wall. Combo guard Jaden Springer, a Tennessee standout, fits well with Stephen Silas’ run and gun offense with his great burst of speed, great ball handling and all-around scoring. His passing needs a lot of work, but his skillset should also force Houston to deal Eric Gordon away.
