NBA Mock Draft 17th Pick: New Orleans Pelicans (via MEM) – Ziaire Williams

With Josh Hart’s free agency likely headed to an arrival elsewhere, the New Orleans Pelicans need to load up on depth in the wing positions. The team simply cannot waste another year treading on mediocre waters, especially with Zion Williamson’s party already making subtle noises of impatience for a more competitive stance.

In that sense, drafting Ziaire Williams makes a ton of sense. The 6’10 forward is not nearly as polished offensively, but his physical gifts make him an exciting prospect if he can reach his full potential, especially when considering his above-average motor, shooting prowess and frightening athleticism.
