NBA Mock Draft 5.0: Final first-round predictions before the draft
NBA Mock Draft 16th Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder – Alperen Sengun
Al Horford and Moses Brown’s departure from the Thunder leaves OKC with only two rotation bigs in Darius Bazley and Isaiah Roby. Mike Muscala is more of a perimeter weapon. As a result, the team needs a big who can not only cover up their frontcourt holes, but also serve as a developmental project in their rebuild.
Alperen Sengun from Turkey fits that description. While a tad undersized and lacking athleticism as a big man, his wonderful post play as a scorer and interior passer will not only give Oklahoma City’s anemic offense a big boost, but also provide the franchise with a potential building block with his high upside, though it similarly comes with a high risk.
