Indiana Pacers: 3 Myles Turner trades to explore this summer
By Luke Parrish
The Wolves can work out a deal with the Indiana Pacers for Myles Turner
The Timberwolves were another team reportedly interested in Myles Turner as they try to finally compete with Karl-Anthony Towns. Towns has been stuck on a bad team throughout his career but the potential of Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell next to him gives Minnesota some hope.
There is a bit of a logjam at guard for Minnesota with Jarrett Culver still not being the player he was drafted to be. The Pacers could easily take a chance on him for depth if Minnesota tries to clear up more minutes for Edwards and Josh Okogie.
The sweetener of this deal is Malik Beasley who, although is not a household name, is a very good get in this trade. Since being traded to Minnesota two seasons ago, Beasley has shot 40.6 percent from three-point range and scored 19.9 points per game.
Beasley was the odd man out in Denver but has been a consistent scorer in Minnesota. Getting a player who can play on the perimeter and add even more scoring to an offense that will feature Caris LeVert and T.J. Warren sounds very fun on paper.
I am curious to see how the Wolves would use Turner given Indiana’s lack of success with a two-big system, even more so given the offensive dominance of Towns and Sabonis. Can Minnesota actually make it work after the Pacers failed?
