Indiana Pacers send Victor Oladipo to Dallas

Pacers: Tim Hardaway Jr., 18th pick in 2020 NBA Draft

Mavericks: Victor Oladipo

If you’re a Mavs fan this one has you excited but for Pacers fans, it may look awful. I’m here to tell you it wouldn’t be all that bad if this trade happened. Any trade that we lose Oladipo in is going to hurt us in our core.

Tim Hardaway Jr. is an explosive scorer and he proved that this year in the playoffs. He averaged 17 points, 3.5 rebounds per game all while shooting an effective field goal percentage of 51 percent.  He would help with the offense you’d be losing with Oladipo and in a modern offense, he would get plenty of opportunities to score. Especially with Domantas Sabonis on the floor. He could either start at the 2-guard or come off the bench and be a big-time scorer.

Hardaway would be on a player option for next season so if it didn’t work with him you aren’t stuck with him years down the line. The Pacers would also acquire the 18th pick in the draft which is loaded with potentially really good role players. The Pacers could use a first-round pick after trading theirs away in the Malcolm Brogdon deal.
