Best Indiana Pacers Player from Old Big East Programs
Best Indiana Pacers Player from Providence: Austin Croshere
After a slow start to his NBA career, Croshere did his best to play the hero in the 2000 NBA Finals. Averaging just seven points per game in the first 17 postseason games, he upped his scoring output to 15 points per outing while his six rebounds were second-most on the team during the series.
His play in the Finals earned him an enormous new contract that offseason that he never lived up to. Croshere was traded to Dallas for Marquis Daniels after nine seasons with the Pacers. During that span, he averaged 7.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game, slightly above his 12-year career average.
Since his playing days, Croshere has spent time on the television team for the Pacers and served as color analyst for Big East Games.
Best Indiana Pacers Player from South Florida: Solomon Jones
Solomon Jones played three seasons with the Hawks before signing a two-year deal with Indiana before the 2009-10 season. He came off the bench in 91 games over those two seasons and averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds.
