How does Jeremy Lamb fit with Indiana?

Not only did Lamb grow as a shooter in Charlotte, but he also took huge strides as a playmaker. Lamb became a master at creating his shot and became more aware as a passer which diversified his profile as a scorer and offensive weapon.

The next thing I’d like to point out is how Jeremy Lamb became an absolute master at his floater while driving to the rim. Aside from shooting, this became his go-to move for Charlotte. He places the perfect amount of arch on it, which makes it very hard to defend. Lamb’s floater and ability to score near the basket makes him a threat even on the nights when his three-point shot isn’t falling.

Lamb also has a solid mid-range game. He shot 52% on shots 10-16 feet away from the hoop, and 44.3% on shots from 16 feet to the three-point line. His ability to create his shot makes him a tough matchup for defenders because he can score the ball at all three levels.

While it wouldn’t be accurate to label Lamb as a great (or even good) passer yet, he has improved this asset of his game over the past few years. I mentioned earlier that he became more aware as a passer, which is probably the fairest way to summarize the development of this portion of his game.

Although he may never become an elite creator for his teammates, Lamb is fantastic while operating in the pick and roll. He can make and create his shots coming off of screens, but he also became good at hitting the roll man during pick and roll scenarios. Expect Lamb to create a lot of easy buckets for guys like Domantas Sabonis during pick-and-roll situations.

It was far from the flashiest signing of free agency, but the Pacers got a very productive player on a bargain contract in Jeremy Lamb. The Indiana Pacers and Jeremy Lamb seem like the perfect marriage.

Jeremy Lamb is a hard-working player that has fought through adversity his entire career. This signing didn’t make many headlines, but I think Jeremy prefers it that way. He may be flying under the radar now, but he’ll be making a name for himself during Indiana’s quest for the Eastern Conference title.
