4. Doug McDermott – 41.1% in 212 games
Nobody had crazy expectations of Doug McDermott when he arrived in Indiana (or Dougy McBuckets as many of us know him by), but boy were we surprised by what he was able to show us in three seasons.
The NBA journeyman arrived in Indy having played for multiple franchises in the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, New York Knicks, and Dallas Mavericks, and he never seemed to be able to stick anywhere for very long. Well that would change in Indiana.
In Indy, Doug was able to consistently get to 40% from behind the arc, something he had only done sporadically up until that point in his career. Unfortunately, McDermott headed to the San Antonio Spurs after the last iteration of the Pacers fell apart, but many of us continue to hold fond memories of Doug’s time in the Blue and Gold.
