Harry Giles’ untapped potential could be an interesting project for the Indiana Pacers

While head coach Rick Carlisle is not the most hospitable to developing young players, taking on a project with still untapped potential could be an interesting option for the Indiana Pacers. Big man Harry Giles, who has been a victim of limited opportunity in his young career, possesses enough upside to warrant a second look from the front office.

While the 23-year-old has barely seen the court last season for the Portland Trail Blazers after similarly meager opportunities with the Sacramento Kings early on, Giles has an intriguing skillset that could arm the Pacers with useful intangibles and flexibility off the bench.

Indiana has an abundance of riches in the center position, but Giles is very mobile and can easily play as a power forward. His nifty court vision and interior passing, impeccable rebounding and growing perimeter game could be worth the risk for the team’s last roster spot.
